About EV Dance
Q: How long has EV Dance been operating? A: Since 4 December 2009 — 17 years as of 2026. Founded by Master Trainer JJ Chan.
Q: Who teaches at EV Dance? A: 29 named coaches, all MOE-ERIS registered, NAC-AEP approved, and Child Protection Level 2 cleared. Led by Master Trainer JJ Chan (read her full profile).

Q: How many schools does EV Dance coach? A: 35+ active CCA contracts across Singapore primary, secondary, JC, polytechnic and international schools. Three of those schools have been with us since 2009.

Classes and enrolment
Q: What ages do you teach? A: From age 4 (Mini Hoppers — Creative Movement) through adult open classes. Most of our kids programme runs ages 4-16.
Q: What dance styles do you offer for kids? A: 9 styles — Hip Hop, K-Pop, Modern Dance, Ballet Foundation, Jazz, Contemporary, Waacking, Locking, House. Plus Creative Movement for ages 4-6.
Q: How big are your classes? A: Maximum 15 students per class. Mini Hoppers capped at 12.
Q: What’s the trial class cost? A: S$20 per trial class.
Q: Do I need to commit to a full term? A: No. You can do single trial classes, then term-by-term enrolment. We don’t ask for annual contracts.
Q: When can my daughter start? A: Most styles accept new students at the start of each term. Some flexibility for mid-term joining at Foundation level. WhatsApp us for current openings.
Pricing
Q: How much do your classes cost? A: Mini Hoppers: S$25/class (S$180 for 8). Foundation: S$30/class (S$220 for 8). Intermediate: S$35/class. Teen Choreography: S$40/class. DSA Prep: custom pricing from S$120/hour. Full pricing.
Q: Are costumes included? A: Term fee includes the Dance Journal, EV Calendar, end-of-year Video Memento, and class uniform discounts. Recital and competition costumes are extra and disclosed in advance. Costume cost guide.
Q: Do you offer financial assistance? A: We have a quiet hardship policy. If cost is a barrier for a committed family, talk to us confidentially.
DSA-Dance preparation
Q: Do you prepare students for DSA-Dance? A: Yes — through our EV Elites programme. Custom 12-week prep cycles including audition video production, mock auditions, and interview prep. Read more.
Q: Which schools have your students been accepted into via DSA-Dance? A: Methodist Girls’ School (MGS), Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (SCGS), Nanyang Girls’ High (NYGH), Raffles Girls’ School (RGS), Crescent Girls’, multiple CHIJ schools, ACS Barker, and SOTA. School-by-school DSA guides.
Q: When should we start DSA-Dance prep? A: Ideally P5 for serious prep. P6 is possible if your daughter has multi-year dance background already. Year-by-year roadmap.
Q: How much does DSA-Dance prep cost? A: Typical range S$3,000-S$7,500 over a 3-6 month prep cycle. Pricing is custom based on starting point and scope.
Trial classes and visits
Q: How do I book a trial class? A: WhatsApp us at +65 9785 0578. We’ll ask a few quick questions and propose a class to try.
Q: Can I visit the studio before enrolling? A: Yes. Drop by any opening hours (see our location page), or book a quiet 10-minute walkthrough via WhatsApp.
Q: Can I watch my daughter’s first class? A: Most studios (including ours) prefer parents NOT to watch the first few classes — kids settle in faster without parents observing. We have specific parent-viewing days each term.
Studio and logistics
Q: What should my child wear to her first dance class? A: Comfortable t-shirt and leggings/shorts, hair tied, water bottle. Full first-class guide.
Q: Where do parents wait? A: We have a reception waiting area. Many parents prefer to grab coffee at nearby cafés along Waterloo Street and return at pick-up.
Q: Is parking available? A: Limited street parking. Most parents drop-off and pick-up. Paid parking at Bugis Junction or Sim Lim Square if you need to wait.

Q: Do you respond to MOE GeBIZ tenders? A: Yes, actively. We participate in GeBIZ tender submissions for CCA dance, enrichment, and hall assembly programmes.
Q: Can EV Dance run an NAC-AEP enrichment programme at our school? A: Yes. We have multiple AEP-coded programmes across hip-hop, K-pop, jazz, and hall assembly formats. NAC-AEP programme catalog.
Adult classes
Q: Do you teach adults? A: Yes — open classes in hip-hop, K-pop, heels, contemporary, street jazz. Plus Absolute Beginner Courses (ABCs) for first-time adult dancers. Adult open classes.
Q: I’m 35 and have never danced. Is it too late? A: No. Honest read on starting dance as an adult.
Booking and bookings
Q: How do I book a class? A: Studio bookings via Vibefam (link in our schedule). DSA Prep enquiries via WhatsApp directly. Trial classes via WhatsApp.
Q: What’s your cancellation policy? A: Term-based: 24-hour notice for makeup class entitlement. Drop-in: 12-hour cancellation for refund. Specifics in your enrolment confirmation.
