K-pop is where many Singapore kids first fall in love with dance. They see BLACKPINK, NewJeans, Stray Kids, BTS on YouTube — and they want to learn the moves. At EV Dance, we teach kids K-pop with proper structure, not just choreography drills.

What’s different about kids K-pop at EV Dance

Most studios in Singapore teach K-pop as an adult open class. When kids show up, they’re either doing adult choreography (sometimes uncomfortable for the age) or doing simplified “kids K-pop” with no actual K-pop structure.

We built dedicated kids K-pop curriculum from the ground up:

What kids learn

Ages 6-9 (Foundation K-pop) – Basic body isolations (head, shoulders, chest) – Counting beats and finding the “1” in the music – Following choreography in sync with a group – Holding short 16-32 count sequences – The joy of moving to music they love

Ages 10-12 (Intermediate K-pop) – Sharper technique — clean isolations, precise footwork – Holding full chorus + verse choreography (1-2 minutes) – Group sync work – Introduction to performance presence (eyes, smile, intent)

Ages 13-16 (Teen K-pop) – Full choreography of popular songs (radio edits) – Performance-ready execution – Optional pathway into our adult K-pop open classes once age 16+ – Cross-style training (hip hop, jazz, contemporary) to build versatility

About our K-pop coaches

EV Dance’s K-pop curriculum is led by coaches who have specialised K-pop training, not just hip hop coaches teaching K-pop on the side. Several of our coaches have spent time training in Korea and have access to current choreographic trends.

All coaches are MOE-approved, NAC-AEP certified, and Child Protection Level 2 cleared.
